Descended from the mountains of Arunachal, rode through the plains of Assam, crossed the River Brahmpautra and landed up on a river island! Watch the video here.
I spent some time exploring Bomdila (Arunachal Pradesh) and then set off to complete the last stage of the descent into Assam. A friend from Chennai who was also riding through the North-East happened to be in Bomdila so we rode down till Tezpur together.
My Royal Enfield got a well-deserved wash and the next day I began to ride towards Upper Assam. I first headed to Kaziranga National Park, but unfortunately it had been closed visitors early this year because of the premature rains. I did a short jungle safari of my own and then continued to ride further East to Jorhat
From there, I got on the last ferry across the River Brahmaputra and went to the world’s largest river island – Majuli!
Bomdila – Bhalukpong – Balipara – Tezpur – Kaliabari Tiniali – Kaziranga – Jorhat – Majuli (Kamalabari)
